The Crying Game and Showing v Telling

18 Abril 2018, 14:00 David Alan Prescott

Brief analysis of the themes of the film The Crying Game. Explanation of how the theme of identity is an ever-present issue in the film, thus granting it unity. Analysis of two passages from the short story The Bath, by Raymond Carver, in order to explain how in prose one has the choice to either show or tell the reader information but in general one does not have this possibility in a film except if one chooses to use narrator voice over, something which is always considered to be a poor option.
