The Last Hurrah

The Contemporary Drama final exam is on Wed. 29th May, between 3.30 and 5 pm. It will take place in our usual room: C008.
Remember that the final exam is only for those students who did not pass (i.e. 9/20 or less, or weren’t evaluated, ‘NA’), or who wish to improve their mark.
You must use our coursebook, Contemporary Drama: Plays for Today? and may use a dictionary. They can be hard copy or online (the dictionary can be mono or bi-lingual in the language of your choice).
In the final exam (90 minutes, like the lessons), you’ll have to write ONE essay. This essay will ask you to write about a particular theme in ONE of the 3 texts in our coursebook we’ve worked on (Lungs, Things I Know to be True and Paradise.): one essay in 90 minutes.
The question paper will tell you the theme. You can choose the text you write on.
Make sure you state your ideas as simply and as clearly as possible (if in Portuguese especially, remember you’re writing for me, not a native Portuguese speaker) and show where your ideas about the text come from. You must, therefore, quote or, if you wish, just use page and line references (e.g. p. 17, ll. 10-15) to support your arguments. Do not simply make lists, describe events and summarise.
There is NO minimum or maximum number of words.
You may answer in either English or Portuguese.
If you have any doubts, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
