Introduction and brief presentation of prgramme and methods

Presentation: the programme and bibliography; the calendar; the method; attendance; assessment; the anthology (containing the poems and texts to be analyzed throughout the semester). Close-reading of a short poem: “This is just to say” by William Carlos Williams. What is poetry? Lines and stanzas (brief introduction).
Assessment and Evaluation Criteria:
2 Written tests (40% each) + Oral Presentation/s (20%). Participation in class will be taken into consideration in final evaluation.
