Role playing for job interviews

11 Dezembro 2019, 15:00 Marta Pacheco Pinto

This session was entirely dedicated to role playing for job interviews. Students worked in pairs (an interviewer-interviewee team); each selected one out of five job scenarios with a specific description. They were then provided with a Job Interview Guide, which they prepared on the basis of the scenario selected by the corresponding partner and the partner's own CV. They were also given some minutes to prepare their own résumés. They then took turns interviewing each other. Each interview took approximately 15 minutes. All interviews were filmed; following the role play, students were sent the footage for individual analysis and self-assessment of their performance. The session counted with the participation of an external observer, a psychologist specialized in recruitment, Patrícia Lourenço. At the end of the performances, Lourenço provided her feedback on the students’ performance and expert advice for succeeding in the job market.
