Objectivos de aprendizagem: desenvolver a capacidade de analisar criticamente as obras mais relevantes da arte chinesa, japonesa e coreana e o contexto cultural no qual foram produzidas, com particular enfoque na influência da arte chinesa e budista na Ásia Oriental. Conteúdos programáticos: Estudo dos conceitos chaves da arte e da arqueologia da Ásia Oriental da pré- história até aos nossos dias. Estudo da arte budista numa perspectiva transcultural. Introduzir a pintura, caligrafia, pintura, caligrafia, a arte e o metal, a cerâmica e o jade na tradição da Ásia Oriental.

Learning outcomes of the curricular unit: developing the capacity to critically analyse the Chinese, Japanese and Korean art masterpieces and the contexts in which they were produced with a special focus on the influence that Chinese and Buddhist arts exercised within the wider East Asian region. Syllabus: Survey of key aspects of the art and archaeology of East Asia from prehistoric times to the present day. Study of Buddhist art from a cross-cultural perspective. Brief introduction to the arts of painting, calligraphy, metalwork, ceramics and jade in the East Asian tradition.
