Dialogue examples: Tarantino / Coen brothers
Exercise, for presentation next Tuesday or Wednesday:
1. See “Dialogue Tips” in SCB 34
2. In pairs or threes, choose ONE of the prompts below and write a dialogue for 2 or 3 characters using that prompt as the starting line. (OPTIONAL: Only for teams of three: one of you can be, if you want, a narrator doing 'voice-off'.)
3. Rehearse the dialogue as a group.
4. Enact it to the class!
1. “Don’t just stand there looking at me.”
2. “How much does he want?”
3. “Your mother wants us to come down for Christmas.”
4. “I’ve caught your cold.”
5. “Give me the remote.”
6. “Set me up.”
7. “Look. There’s a place to park.”
8. “You first.”
