Basic narratological concepts: characters; narrator and types of narrators; the importance of time and how it is used: time of the story and time of discourse; scenes, descriptions, digressions, summaries and ellipses; from scenes to narration; the importance of space. Points of view: the use of reflector characters and reflectorisation (F. K. Stanzel). Free indirect speech and interior monologue. The stream of consciousness technique (Woolf and Joyce).
