Approving a project for tourism

Students were divided into two groups - one consisting of representatives of a company wishing to turn a traditional village into a tourist attraction, the other of local residents opposing such development.
The first part of the lesson involved each group's reflection and construction of arguments for a meeting in the city hall. The second part of the class was based on a simulated debate where each group presented its arguments to the representatives of the city council for assessment of the project's overall viability. 


Job Applications and Cover Letters

Students were shown the techniques for writing effective cover letters to ensure clear exposure of their competencies.
On the basis of a job advertisement, students were asked to write individual cover letters, tailored to the job description, in which their hard and soft skills were equally highlighted.
This work was handed in for assessment.

The aims of the course and the evaluation criteria were explained to the students:

Test 1 - November- based on all the writing skills practised in the firsst part of the semester
Test 2 - Oral presentations- December 15th, in conjunction with the teachers of "Itinerários" in IGOT


Students watched, and wrote a short essay on the documentary "Terramotourism" by Left Hand Rotation
