Grammar - Prepositions

Today, TP2 finished location prepositions and (nearly) finished time prepositions..


Next class will be ONLINE so that we can finish the prepositions in time for the grammar test.: we will finish time prepositions and move on to direction and position prepositions.  Anyone missing these (really important) classes should read the PowerPoint at home (they're in the shared drive) and do the homework.

Today, students learned about WHEN to use: 

  • past perfect
  • the past perfect continuous
  • the simple future.
Homework: students should carry out the exercises on the following englishpage.com pages by clicking on the links below (those who missed class should first read the PowerPoint tutorials that are on the shared Google drive):
We then began to learn about location prepositions.  The PowerPoint for the prepositions grammar tutorial is available on the Google shared drive.

Next class:we will continue to learn about location prepositions and we will then move on to time, position and direction prepositions.

Sentences

Students did exercises constructing sentences of the following types:

1. single phrase sentences
2. compound sentences
3 simple & compound sentences with adverbs of frequency.
This was a practical exercise with active discussion where students worked with correct subject/verb pairing as well as word order.
