13 Março 2019, 12:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Today, TP3 carried out the midterm listening test.

Reading and Listening...

11 Março 2019, 12:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Students carried out the following reading exercise, addressing any and all vocabulary issues along the way:

B1.1 Reading: Free Time

Students who missed class today (and there were quite a few of you!) should read this text at home and answer all questions online and see how you fare.

Following this, TP3 did the following listening exercise in preparation for next class' listening test:

B1.1 Listening: Free Time Activities

You should really do this exercise at home if you missed today's class as next class you have your listening test!

Please note: there is NO NEED to bring one of those official test papers (folhas de teste) as I will provide you with everything you need for the test.  You may bring a piece of scrap paper if you wish, but that is all you will need along with your writing utensils.

Holiday - Carnaval

Yet more partying for students, hopefully.  (Still none for me.)

Today, students were, hopefully, out partying.  (I, sadly, was not.)

Listening, Speaking, Writing...

27 Fevereiro 2019, 12:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Today, TP3 started the lesson by doing the following lesson exercise:

Students who missed class today are highly recommended to listen to this recording at home and answer the questions online.  Please remember that the listening test is coming up, so practicing is important!

Following the listening test, students carried out the following speaking exercise in groups of 3 or 4:

B1.1 Speaking: Your Worst House-share/Flat-share experience

Get into groups of three and share with the group your worst house-share/flat-share experiences.  If you’ve never shared a house with anyone, describe the challenging aspects of sharing a home with your family or your partner.

Following this, students TP3 carried out their first in-class writing exercise:

B1.1 In-class Writing: Your Best House-share/Flat-share experience

Write a short piece (half a page of A4 or a full page of A5) describing the best house-share/flat-share experience of your life.  If you’ve never shared a house or flat with anyone, describe the best memories you have of sharing a home with your family or partner.

Please note that in-class writing exercises are to be carried out in class.  Unless you are a registered worker student, I will not accept these as homework assignments.

Following this, students had some in-class tutorials for their homework optional assignments.
