Students began the lesson by reading the following text and answering the questions (please note that the text is in your course book but the answers are only available online):

Those who missed class are highly recommended to read the text and answer the questions. Please make a note of how you scored as I might ask you next class how you fared.
Students then went on to do their second listening exercise (again, please listen to the recording at home online and try and answer the questions and ensure you record your score);

Students then carried out their second speaking exercise:
B1.1 Speaking: the Education System
Get into groups of three and talk a bit about what you think is right and/or wrong with primary and/or secondary school education in the country you are from. You can, if you wish (though it is not obligatory) to tell the group a bit about what school was like for you.
Students then began to read the following text in class (although we did not finish this and will carry on next class):

Optional Homework:
B1.1 Writing: Your Education
Tell me what school was like for you when you were younger. You can choose to focus on either your primary or your secondary school. Alternatively, you can write about how your current university experience is going. The assignment should be 150-200 words long. Please write your name and class number (TP3) at the beginning of your assignment. Please email this to me no later than Friday night as I will need the weekend to mark your assignments.
