More advanced work with prepositions and dialogue writing

We read the summary of Roald Dahl's short story "The Way up to Heaven", paying particular attention to the use of the prepositions: (by, with, of, for, to, across and into) as they occur in the text.

Working together students then produced different sentences where they used these prepositions appropriately. There was a lively discussion of regular use and possible uses in exceptional cases, but emphasis was placed on regular usage.

Then, while in the breakout rooms, students wrote a dialogue between 2 of the characters in the story. They then read their texts in class.

Students must complete Task 4 on page 40 for the next class.
