Simple Past vs Present Perfect in English
12 Novembro 2020, 12:30 • Cecília Maria Beecher Martins
Continued to work with simple past and introduced students to the way we use simple past and present perfect in English (pp 53-59).
We did a socially-distanced form of the past tenses oral exercise - the Alibi Game - for students to practise using the question form of the simple past in a "real-life" oral scenario, and to illustrate how the present perfect cannot be used to discuss events that are finished in the past
Dtudents did questions 1-10 on page 60 in class and will correct the other exercises on Zoom.
I asked students to do exercises on pp4-5 on the simple past vs present perfect from the pdf of extra exercises that have already been sent to them.
I also asked students to write lists of 10 items they have in each of the following: kitchen, living room/dining room and bedroom to help with vocabulary building for the speaking exercise we will do in the Zoom class (preparation for the speaking test) and writing descriptions.
