Part 2 – writing a summary (8 marks)

Please revise the guidelines for summary writing (pp. 26-27). You will have to summarise the short story provided.

Part 3 – writing a paragraph (7 marks)

This will consist in writing a paragraph about one of the characters from the short story.

To further prepare for the test, I recommend you revise the grammar from the Self-study Section: Use of English (pp. 51-68), Worksheets 1 to 5, and the grammar exercises sent by email throughout the semester.

I will be available online (via Zoom) during the test to clear any doubts you may have. Please access the Zoom meeting as usual and use the chat box (please mute your microphone) to contact me so as not to disrupt your classmates' work. I will reply to you as soon as possible.

A word to the wise ... Any form of plagiarism (including representing someone else's work as your own) will be equivalent to a fail in B1.2 and shall be reported to the appropriate academic authorities.

For practical reasons, could you please follow the following rules when you send your answer sheet:

1. Send a new email - do not reply to this email; it is very difficult to find emails in an email chain

2. In the subject line please write B1.2 Second Test and your name
