1) Presenting the programme and assessment rules
2) Icebreakers: getting to know each other:
a) each student had to answer a “crazy question” and presenting themselves in a few words (questions were written on separate slips of paper, and were chosen at random.)
b) pair work activity: students had to write their names and five words about themselves, the others had to guess the connection and vice versa, students kept changing partners during the exercise.
c) group work activity: picture charades: blank stare, brainstorm, hairy chest, background, French window, beauty spot (source: Kathy Gude and Michael Duckworth: Proficiency Masterclass. Student’s Book. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 1997. p. 111.)
