Pre-reading activities leading up to discussion of "Eye witness" by Ed McBain: (a) useful terms associated with analysing short stories (main/minor characters; first-person/third-person narrator; point of view; setting, plot; exposition; climax; resolution; theme, etc.); (b) vocabulary expansion exercise: criminals and the crimes they commit. HOMEWORK: Read the short story "Eye witness" by Ed McBain on pages 23-25 and do Exercises 1, 2, and 3 on pages 26-27.
