Analysis of texts from: "You'll Never Eat Lunch In This Town Again" by Julia Phillips, about the falsehood involved in the media of TV and film; a text by Boris Johnson from the Telegraph, as an example of the sort of opinion article one expects from a quality newspaper in the UK; and a text, "Monitoring the Popular Press", expressing the view that, far from there having been a decline in standards in popular newspapers in Britain, they have always been interested in gossip and scandal.
