Oral presentations: An individual press review. The following student presented his press review: Fábio Dias.

Vocabulary expansion exercise based on words/expressions from TEXTS 5 to 10.

Working with British tabloids and quality newspapers continued: (a) analysing editorials (topics addressed; treatment of facts, emphasis, angle; political slant); (b) reporting to the class on one's findings.
HOMEWORK: (a) read TEXT 11: "Race and marijuana arrests" (New York Times) and TEXT 12: "Prison works ..." (The Independent) and answer the question at the top of page 32; (b) Make a list of topics that could be used in an editorial (further instructions sent by email).
