Students presented on the cultural artifacts of a current event and a song. The current event artifact had to do with an accident caused using snapchat and driving and we discussed the story and similar events that have happened in Portugal and the danger of always being connected to smart phones. The song artifact was on Tracy Chapman's fast car and talked about the songs lyrics and it's message of trying to escape poverty.
Students were then lectured on how to write a cover letter for a job in English, examining the general format and different strategies that can be employed.
