The interconnection between different art forms is well known and discussed but Colm Tóibín offers an excellent example of how he as a writer uses other art forms to introduce new directions to his writing. In Nora Webster he uses 2 films to introduce other perspectives to the story that he is developing - George Cukor's Gaslight  and Frank Capra's New Horizon. We discussed the elements that Gaslight could have introduced and we read the sections on New Horizon in preparation for the viewing of this film. Began viewing  Frank Capra's  New Horizon.
