Students presented the Introduction to Norman Holland's Meeting Movies and his free associative analysis of Casablanca "Casablanca: America's and Mine" - discussion of this type of film analysis.

Watched the movie Casablanca in preparation for presentation of free associative film analysis techniques.

Students have to read the introduction the Norman Holland's book Meeting Movies and the chapter "Casablanca: America's and Mine" in preperation for student presentation and discussion in next class.

Presentation of visual literacy skills - how to read film stills:

Mise-en-scene features and framing

Student led discussion of chapters 6 & 7 of Literature and the Brain  - what is happening in our minds when we are absorbed in a book or a film.

Continuation of this discussion as students had many questions.

Also students have to do a visual literacy exercise with the second film still from the film Sully in the manual.
