Final Exam Information

Remember that the final exam is only for those students who did not pass (i.e. 9/20 or less, or weren’t evaluated, ‘NA’), or who wish to improve their mark.

The C1.1 English final exam is on Wed. 18th June between 5 pm and 6.30 pm in Rm C248 B.

You may only use our coursebook, All you Need is… the Ask Philippa answers on Moodle and a hard copy English-English dictionary.

You'll have to do ONE piece of writing in the 90 mins.

You’ll have to imagine you’re an ‘agony aunt’ for a magazine or newspaper.  On the exam paper, you will see an email written to you by someone who is having romantic problems.

In your piece of writing, you must give advice and make suggestions to help them solve their problems. Do not send them to a therapist or ask them to read a self-help book etc. It’s your job to solve the problems!

In your text, you can use anything that Philippa Perry (from Ask Philippa) or Katie Hood (from the TED Talk) say that you consider relevant, but can also suggest your own solutions.

There is neither a minimum nor a maximum number of words.

If you have any doubts, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
