Analysis of two first texts about the USA. The first shows that the North American coast was already being explored and colonised by man different European nations, with different backgrounds, languages and religions, and the second demonstrates how "America" was merely a business venture for the British rather than a mission from God, as was sometimes believed by the Spanish and Portuguese in the south of the continent.
