Students were instructed on the elements of a five paragraph informative essay and how to write them. Students then read an article about the experiences of different international students in the U.S. and their observations about college life in the U.S. Students then answered reflection questions on these observations and shared their own observations about the article and engaged in a discussion comparing and contrasting the U.S. and Portuguese college life.
