Class 5

Students had a brief review of how to tell anecdotes and then told anecdotes in pairs with a variety of prompts.  Students examined the structure, tone, and information present in the Saramago obituary as an example for their own obituary assessment.  Students read "Oh The Places You'll Go!" and then were put into groups to create a brief presentation on their stanza.  Each presentation summarized the stanza, noted the characteristics of the stanza (vocabulary, text features, rhythm, rhyme), reflected on the meaning, and drew a picture representative of the stanza.  Each group then read their stanza aloud and presented to the class.
