We watched the opening speakers of the "Islam is a Religion of Peace" and "Westen Military Action against ISIS" debate to offer students exampes of good, middling and bad opening speeches:
Very good from the perspective of structure and arguments Opening Speaker for the Proposition in the "Islam is a Religion of Peace"
Very bad from the perspective of structure and arguments Opening Speaker for the Opposition in the "Islam is a Religion of Peace" and "Military Intervention" debates.
Middling: Proposition speaker in the "Military Intervention" debate.
Open class discussion on the above, and suggestions on how each speaker's intervention could/should be improved.
Correction of inversion exercises.
