We did an animated reading of James Thurber's short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty".

Students took notes during this reading to prepare them for writing a summary of the story.

Instruction on summary writing as in manual.

For next class: students who did not finish their summaries in class have to complete them at home and bring to next class.

In the next class we will watch the Ben Stiller film version of Thuber's short story. Students are to watch this, looking for the differences between the 2 versions and asking why American's 1) are so attached to this stiry; 2) who do they retell it in different ways? 

These exercises are in preperation for the essay on Walter Mitty to be submitted on 20th March (10% of final grade).
