Then we did a dramatic reading of James Thurber's short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" . 

I illustrated to the students how they should begin their presentation of the short story, they write a "thesis line" to describe the main point of the story. Then they reviewed each paragraph to see what each one added to this central idea.

Students will prepare a 200-word summary of this short story to bring to class next Weds. 

We also discussed the oral presentations and I demonstrated to the students how they should prepare their abstracts. These must be submitted on 25th November.
