Students were introduced to the format and function of descriptive texts in literary writingThey performed practical exercises on writing "sensorial texts" and the transformation of observational texts into literary formats.

We will continue work with descriptive texts in the next class and then move onto the format of narrative writing.
I also asked students to read the first two pages of the academic essay "Representations of the Self and the Other in Eighteenth Century Travel Writing" to be discussed in the next class.
I sent the newspaper articles that Prof Marianne Rogoff wants students to read in preparation for her creative writing workshop "Fernando Pessoa's Heteronyms or the Multiple Selves within Us" on 17th May, but if for any reason you did not receive these you can download them at the following sites.
