General introduction to the theme of the seminar, enlarging the scope of “screened queens” to the the question of “representations of female sovereignty” and more general the poetics of politics and politics of poetics (imaginations of the state). Theoretical reflection on aesthetics and its relationship to politics (from Plato to Rancière), literature and representations the complexities of sovereignty, the aesthetics of film; characterization of issue women and political hegemony (incl.
