Presentation of Persuasive Pieces

Students presented their persuasive pieces to the class.

Students were then taken through the expectations and success criteria of the End of Term Oral Exam.

  • Oral presentations are worth 20% of your final grade.
  • You must speak for a minimum of 8 minutes and a maximum of 10 minutes.
  • The presentation will be on a topic of your choice.
  • You can do the presentation on your own or in a group but each person must speak a minimum of 8 minutes and a maximum of 10.
  • Please inform me of your date and topic no later than the 11th of November.

Oral Presentation Rules

  • Do not repeat last year’s presentation and do not plagiarize – I can always tell.  Plagiarism will result in a mark of '0'.
  • You may use visual aids such as the whiteboard (I can give you a marker) or use a PowerPoint to make your presentation more interesting.
  • You can use video or audio clips in your presentation but these do not count towards your 8 minute minimum yet must be within the ten minute maximum.
  • If you need computer equipment or sound columns, please let me know no later than 48 hours before the presentation so that I can book these.

Grammar Class and Education in England and Wales

First half of the class on grammar matters arising from voluntary homework done. These were: use of the definite article, the past tense of the verb 'have' as auxiliary or full verb and some spelling issues.
Then the second part of the class was on the education system in England and Wales with special attention to the differennces in relation to European education systems and any linguistic confusions.
