14 Outubro 2015, 08:00 Hilda Alexandra Prazeres Eusebio

Students were given 90 minutes to complete their Persuasive Writing Pieces.  Students are to presente these next class.

The teacher then talked the students through the Major Writing Assignment.

Writing project:

20% of your final mark:

•First draft = 5%;

•Final draft = 15%

•First draft due: 12th November;

•Final draft due: 19th November.

Your writing project can be one of the following:

Descriptive Writing Piece

  • Poetry;
  • Journals/Diaries;

A persuasive writing piece:

  • Political speech;
  • Essay;
  • Editorial;

A narrative writing piece:

  • Short story;
  • Biography;
  • Autobiography;

An expository writing piece:

  • News report;
  • Scientific report;
  • A personal letter.

Naturally, each of the above assignment options involve combinations of the genres.  For exemple: a short story will obviously be a narrative piece  but a good short story must contain elements of descriptive writing.  Journals and diaries have been classified as 'descriptive' forms of writing and yet, the can be as expositor as an autobiography.  Make sure you write about something that will interest you!

All assignments must be EMAILED as usual by the abovementioned deadlines and must be formatted in Arial, size 12 and must be DOUBLE-SPACED.  The first draft should be a minimum of 1-2 pages long and the final draft 2.5 to 5 pages long (a little longer if you're going to write a poem).

DO NOT PLAGIARIZE - I will catch you and you will get a mark of '0'.
