Today we practiced the idiomatic expressions on the second page of the “Try something new for 30 days” worksheet (Week 1 folder on Google Drive). We then discussed changing attitudes towards physical activity and healthy lifestyles across generations, using the “Background” section of the “TED Talk: Got a meeting? Take a walk” worksheet (available in the Week 2 folder). We also worked on the “Keywords” section and on exercise 5.1 before watching Nilofer Merchant’s TED Talk.
Past simple vs present perfect (review)

Today we reviewed the use of the past simple and present perfect through pair interviews about life experiences. We then began watching the TED Talk “Try something new for 30 days”. We will continue working on it next week.
Homework for Tuesday, September 22: Review the rules and complete the exercises in the worksheet entitled “Present perfect vs past simple”, available in the Week 1 folder on Google Drive.
