Descriptive Writing - Part 2

Students analyzed texts identifying the main 'mood' or 'tone' of the piece and the corresponding descriptive tools/techniques.
Texts analyzed included:
- an excerpt from The Magic Metal Tube by Maxine Hong Kingston;
- an excerpt from Inside District School #7, Niagara County, New York by Joyce Carol Oates.
- Barbara Willard's The Sprig of Bloom;
Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol;
Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood.
Homework: Descriptive Writing Piece due on 5th March no later than 23:59. All pieces must be EMAILED.
The piece must be written in the descriptive style. You can:
Finish the piece you started during our outdoor assignment;
Write a journal entry;
Write a descriptive piece of fiction;
Write a poem.
Pieces must be no shorter than 250 words in length and no longer than 350 words in length.
All pieces must be double-spaced, Arial, font 12.
