Descriptive Writing - Part 1

Students analyzed texts identifying the main 'mood' or 'tone' of the piece and the corresponding descriptive tools/techniques.

Students went on to do a descriptive writing exercise outside.  The exercise consisted of:

  • observing their surroundings;
  • choosing a mood;
  • describing everything they could see, hear, taste, touch and smell.

This exercise can be finished at a later date and handed in as one of the descriptive homework assignments.
