Expository Writing - Part 2

Firstly, the teacher presented  the chapter which shares the title with the novel: Me Talk Pretty One Day.  The objective of this was to model the upcoming presentations for the students in that they might have a better understanding of what is expected of them.  (Note: students should do a way better job than the teacher actually did.)

In the previous class, students brainstormed different types of expository writing and proceeded to read and analyze sample texts in class.  These included a book summary plus a trailer for the movie adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones. This class, the class read through a plot summary and a book review from The New York Times for the same novel.   Vocabulary issues were addressed in both classes.
