Today, we finished looking at the basics of descriptive writing and went on to analyze the following samples:

• "The Magic Metal Tube" from Maxine Hong Kingston's The Woman Warrior: Memoirs of a Girlhood Among Ghosts (Knopf, 1976)

• Inside District School #7, Niagara County, New York by Joyce Carol Oates
