How Canadian anthropomorphism differed from that presented in stories written in the British and US traditions. 
Students carried out close readings of specific sections of the story.
Also discussion of how the history and natural development of the country influenced its literary production.

Then screened the first half of Michael McGowen’s One Week (2008) and discussed how this Canadian movie, not only presented Canada, it also illustrates the aforementioned themes.

Also presented the concept of survival as a central theme in Canadian literature as defended by Margaret Atwood.
