Tutorial 1: Introduction to the course

Introduction to the course and to some organizational aspects concerning its normal processing and development. Presentation and characterization of the following items: “Syllabus; “Course Schedule and Content”, “Assessment Criteria” and “e-learning page”. The documents "Syllabus", "Course schedule and Content" and "Assessment” are available on the e-learning page of the course.

The assessment criteria, as described in the document “Assessment” are as follow:

1. Attendance: 5 %.

2. Participation: 10 %;

3. Mid-semester test: 30 %

4. Expository text (A4 page) on one of five possible contents. 25 %

5. Final essay (group work: 3 people) or final test: 30 %
