Information on the Final Exam (between 29^th May and 2^nd June):

I don’t have the exact date yet, but final exams are normally at the same time and in the same room as lessons. Therefore, it’ll probably be 3.30-5 pm on either Wed. 31^st May or Friday 2^nd June, in Room C008. However, please keep checking the FLUL website, just in case!

For the final exam (90 minutes, like the lessons), you’ll have to write two texts. Each text will be worth 50% of the final mark.

For the first, you’ll be asked to look at a short section from one of our 5 extracts in the course book (I’ll choose the extract) and say how you would stage it. You’ll be expected to go into considerable detail and explain how, for example, you would have the actors say their lines, what kind of lighting there would be etc. etc.

There is no word limit (but, remember, this is only worth 50% of the final exam. Control your timing!).

For the second, you’ll be given the beginning of a dialogue between two characters from The Family and asked to continue it according to the information you have about them and their circumstances. Again, there is no word limit (but this is worth the other 50% of the final exam. Once more, control your timing!).

 You can write both texts in either English or Portuguese.

You must bring our coursebook (it can be on your phone), The Play’s the Thing, and you can also use online or hard copy dictionaries.
