Meeting with students to explain how classes are organized, including the syllabus and assessment. The programme was presented to students in a more detailed form. Assessment and evaluation was also discussed. 

ASSESSMENT: One written test (40%) and one (written or audiovisual) essay (40%) + 20% attendance and participation.

 

NOTE: In-class participation will have an impact on your final mark. 

 

ESSAY: The essay must be done in groups of 2 or 3, with no exceptions. It should consist in a three-page analysis of a theme, scene, or film concerning film noir. If you want to create an audiovisual piece, a single page describing your project must be submitted with the file.

 

Each group is responsible for sending the teacher the necessary information about their project: title of the project (which should include the film you are going to analyze) and group participants, to avoid repetition. You will have access to a list of films that you can choose from via Google Drive, as well as other materials.

The written test is scheduled for November 8.
