Dear Students,

 

A first request to all of you is that you please stop sending me emails, which I am unable to answer, due to the fact that I have almost 90 students. I understand your anxieties and doubts well. We have all been surprised by the recent turn of events. Hopefully things will go back to normal soon.

As you know the kind of activities and methods practised in our tutorial classes, adequate to the kind of skills and tools I wish you to master, are not susceptible to be converted into formal lectures to be released via Skype. In these circumstances, I suggest that you read attentively the novel by Tracy Chevalier, Girl with the Pearl Earring [London: Harper Collins, 1999] and watch the film of the same name, directed by Peter Weber. This will save us time later on in the semester.

In what concerns the test, scheduled for the 17^th of March, it will have to be rescheduled for a later date. We are not yet allowed to give students any dates at this stage.

When I have more information about all these issues, I will let you know.
