Dear Students,
I hope you are all well.
I will start by a quotation that is an adequate reminder of our priority in the present circumstances:
“Nothing is important but life.” (D.H. Lawrence, “Why the Novel Matters”)
For those of you who may have already finished reading Tracy Chevalier’s novel and watched the film and who haven’t yet decided what to read next, I have a suggestion: Robinson Crusoe, by Daniel Defoe, or in the case of those who prefer a good love comedy, you may try Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. They are both British classics and very enjoyable.
If you absolutely need to contact me, please do so.
I will return to you next week. Meanwhile, take care!
Isabel Fernandes
