Analysis of a newspaper article about trolling (in this case about personal attacks on the parents of Madeleine McCann). Demonstration of how so many people believe that writing insults, body shaming and threatening other people on the various platforms on the Internet is not the same as doing so in normal social interaction. Many people seem to believe that it is possible to write in "private" on a network that is openly available to anyone on the planet (and on the International Space Station). While it is illegal to open another person's mail, all platform terms and conditions give away the right to privacy.

Analysis of article by Boris Johnson from The Daily Telegraph. The intention is to show students that the UK press is not only scandal and popular sports. Johnson's article would require a deep knowledge of Shakespeare's tragedies, some knowledge of 16th history and linguistics, a general idea about Mandarin culture and perhaps the Ming dynasty and some appreciation of how irony, facetiousness and sarcasm can be used as critical devices in an essay.
