Discussed Rita Charon's lecture "Bodies, Stories and Selves: How Narrative saves lives" at the Champalimaud Foundation. Then we listened to Rita Charon's Ted Talk "Honoring the Stories of Illness" to give students who had not been able to attend the lecture a deeper insight into her work.
Discussion of how her perspective on stories and storytelling could influence teaching in the humanities.
Students presented chapters 7-9 of The Hopeless Life of Charlie Summers. Discussion of their summaries.
