Conclusion of Foreword


HW:
Monday's homework + before starting to read the book, write one or two paragraphs that follow up on the opening paragraph of BNW (see below), where you briefly imagine what this 'brave new world' is like, inspired by this opening. In other words, summarily explain what you think this society is like, and how it is organised.

A squat grey building, of only 34 floors. Over the
main entrance the words CENTRAL LONDON
HATCHING AND CONDITIONING CENTRE,
and, in a shield, the World State's motto,
COMMUNITY, IDENTITY, STABILITY.

Summary writing and discussion

Began the writing of the summary of the short story "The Secret Life of Water Mitty". As not all the students had done this reading this assignment will be continued on 29th Feb.

Began the screening of the film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" - discussion of the presentation of the character and world of the "two" Walter Mittys. Continue the screening and discussion on 29th Feb.
