Students were informed of the Programme content and evaluation criteria:

  • Two films will be shown this semester by two British film directors. Students will be required to discuss the main themes of the films in class and to analyse the performance of the actors with a view to employing appropriate discursive language in the construction of written reviews;
  • Texts based on current news items, newspaper editorials, opinions and columns will be used in class for the purpose of discussion and language analysis;
  • Students are required to choose a novel from a list of selected texts for an oral presentation (in small groups) in April.

Evaluation:
      • Test 1- film review-                                    March 30         30%
      • Oral Presentations-                                   April 4 to 13      25%
      • Test 2- Discursive Writing -                        June 1              30%
      • Classwork/homework/class participation                             15%
