11 Abril 2016, 10:00 • David Alan Prescott
Using texts taken from works by Raymond Carver, before and after revision, as well as some of my examples, an analysis of the differences between telling as a writing technique ("He walked into the room and sat down. Showing of the film The Blair Witch Project (Eduardo Sanchez and

Witness analysed
4 Abril 2016, 10:00 • David Alan Prescott
Step by step analysis of the beginning of the film Witness seen in the previous class. Demonstration of clever presentation of the backstory of the main character, showing of how names are given. Explanation of the importance of the notion of theme in a well-written film. The theme in Witness is that of contrast, which is present almost from the beginning and in every sequence.
Explanation that the "rules" of dialogue screenwriting do not apply to the translations, as the subtitles have to correspond to a limited space and time frame.
