This class explored art during the reign of Elizabeth I from portraiture, miniatures, poetry and drama (which will be further explored in the next topic). 

Famous portraits of Elizabeth I were analysed with attention to detail (posture, symbolism, jewellery and attire, power).

Two of Shakespeare's sonnets were also discussed in class as examples of 16th century poetry.
