Zoom meeting: 
Discussion of the short story "Sunday on the park" by Bel Kaufman: (a) making a list of the main points in the story; (b) using that list to write a summary of the short story, first individually and then as a group (to be continued on Wednesday).
HOMEWORK:
Here's what you should do for Wednesday's Zoom session:
1.  Summary writing of "Sunday on the park" by Bel Kaufman. If you participated in the Zoom meeting today, make sure you have your summaries with you on Wednesday. If you didn't attend today's session, write a summary of the short story "Sunday on the park" by Bel Kaufman in no more than 200 words. On Wednesday we'll do a joint summary of the short story using your own individual summaries as a starting point.
2.  Reading comprehension questions Answer the questions 1-5 on page 45 (Exercise 3) in writing. Write complete sentences.  Do not send your answers by email. Answers will be checked on Wednesday during our Zoom meeting.


Grammar Revision. Class discussion

"Men against fire": Class Discussion (See discussion questions on e-learning platform)

Deadline: Assignment on the novel (15%). Students had to choose which question they want edto answer for the novel assignment. List of questions available on pages 27-28 (see Couse Book).

Written Test: Given the current state of affairs, the written test (30%) will take place on May 4th, 2.00-4.00pm. Students will be sent the question paper by e-mail (also available on our e-learning platform) and must then proceed to complete it and send it back within two hours.

Material for the written test:
  • Short story: "Cyprus Avenue" by Lucy Caldwell
  • Novel: Pigeon English by Stephen Kelman
  • Episode: "Men against Fire" (episode 5, season 3 of Black Mirror)
  • Grammar: modal verbs; verb tenses

N.B.: Due to technical problems class was taught on Friday the 17th, 10.00-12.00
